the who - behind blue eyes

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies

But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you

No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through

But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool

And if I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
And if I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

temple of the dog - call me a dog

You call me a dog well that's fair enough
'Cause it ain't no use to pretend
You're wrong
When you call me out I can't hide anymore
I have no disguise you can't see through

Well you say it's bad luck
To have fallen for me
Well what can I say to make it good for you
You wore me out like an old winter coat
Trying to be safe from the cold

But when it's my time to throw
The next stone
I'll call you beautiful if I call at all

You tell me I'm low 'cause I've slept on the floor
And out in the woods with the badgers & wolves
You threw me out 'cause I went digging for gold
And I came home with a handful of coal

But when it's my time to throw the next stone
I'll call you beautiful if I call at all
And when it's my time to call your bluff
I'll call you beautiful or leave it alone
You call me a dog
Well that's fair enough

It doesn't bother me as long as you know
Bad luck will follow you
If you keep me on a leash and
You drag me along

call me a dog

I've always felt a lot of empathy for this song too:

Brand New Start ? Paul Weller
I'm gonna clear out my head
I'm gonna get myself straight
I know it's never too late
To make a brand new start

I'm gonna kick down the door
I'm gonna get myself in
I'm gonna fix up the yard
And not fall back again

I'm gonna clear up my earth
And build a heaven on the ground
Not something distant, unfound
But something real to me

But something real to me

All that I can, I can be
All that I am I can See
All that is mine is in my hands
So to myself I call

There's somewhere else I should be
There's someone else I can see
There's something more I can find
It's only up to me

I'm gonna clear up my earth
And build a heaven on the ground
Not something distant, unfound
But something real to me

But something real to me

I'm gonna clear out my head
I'm gonna get myself straight
I feel it's never too late
To make a brand new start
To make a brand new start

This is going to sound cheesy....

My 4 year old was watching "The Jungle Book" (the animated one) and as Baloo the bear was singing "The Bear Necessities" I realized that that song could easily be the theme song for my life...

Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
That's how a bear can rest at ease
With just the bare necessities of life...

(my favorite part....) When you find out you can live without it and go along not thinking about it.....

crap...now I'm going to be singing this stupid song for the rest of the day..

Sweat, by Tool.

I am the thinker and the fisherman.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

Town song in Diablo -- Tristram
Metallica -- Harvester of Sorrow
Fear Factory -- Machines of Hate and Zero Signal
Nirvana -- Cover of "Lake of Fire"
Smashing Pumpkins -- Soma
Stone Temple Pilots -- Creep
Our Lady Peace -- Supermans Dead

How about another necro post?

Pink Floyd: Comfortably Numb
Living Colour: Nothingness
The Pillows: Sleepyhead

I like this pack.
Unnflattering but I like these three and have thought they remind me of myself before.
