Man Erg(P. Hamill, for those times of my own transient psychosis which happily do no occur with the frequency(nor duration) with which they once did

The killer lives inside me; yes, I can feel him move.
Sometimes he's lightly sleeping in the quiet of his room;
but then his eyes will rise and stare through mine,
he'll speak my words and slice my mind inside.
Yes, the killer lives.

The angels live inside me, I can feel them smile;
their presence strokes and soothes the tempest in my mind
and their love can heal the wounds that I have wrought.
They watch me as I go to fall;
well, I know I shall be caught
while the angels live.

How can I be free?
How can I get help?
Am I really me?
Am I someone else?

But stalking in my cloisters hang the acolytes of gloom
and Death's Head throws his cloak into the corner of my room
and I am doomed.
But laughing in my courtyard play the pranksters of my youth
and solemn, waiting Old Man in the gables of the roof:
he tells me truth.

And I, too, live inside me and very often don't know who I am;
I know I'm not a hero;well, I hope that I'm not damned.
I'm just a man, and killers, angels, all are these,
dictators, saviours, refugees in war and peace
as long as Man lives...

I'm just a man, and killers, angels, all are these:
dictators, saviours, refugees.

Here's another little gem by Uncle Neil. In a lot of ways it's the sequel to "Needle and the Damage Done." It's a great song with some really choice lyrics about addiction and serious drug abuse -- two things that have been sort of hobby of mine these past two decades...

No More
Neil Young

Livin' on the edge of night
You know the sun won't go down slow
You don't know which drug is right
Can't decide which way you wanna go
I feel the way you feel
Cause not long ago
It had a hold on me
I couldn't let it go
It wouldn't set me free
It wouldn't set me free
No more, no more, no more

Seemed like the easy thing
To let it go for one more day
Like singin' the same old song
And twistin' the words
In a different way
Where did the magic go
I searched high and low
I can't find it no more
I can't get it back
I can't find it no more
I can't find it no more
No more, no more, no more, no more

Searchin' for quality
Havin' to have the very best
Now scroungin' for quantity
Never havin' time
To do the test
That's how this story goes
Can't put it down
Till the last page
I can't pull it down
I can't put it down
I can't put it down

PS: OoD, regarding you puppt not having "hands," have you heard the joke about the three-legged dog who hops into the old west saloon and says, "I'm looking for the man who shot my paw!"

"Hunky Dory" David Bowie Which Song?

Its funny, when I think of "Hunky Dory" I think of it as One Song - I suppose Its the "Life on Mars" and "Bewley Brothers" That are the two that get me going - But thats like trying to pick a gem out of the Royal Crown of the Majarajah - OoD

i don't need to be a global citizen
because i'm blessed by nationality
i'm member of a growing populace
we enforce our popularity
there are things that
seem to pull us under
and there are things
that drag us down
but there's a power
and a vital presence
thats lurking all around
we've got the american Jesus
see him on the interstate
we've got the american Jesus
he helped build the
president's estate
i feel sorry
for the earth's population
'cuz so few
live in the U.S.A.
at least the foreigners
can copy our morality
they can visit but they cannot stay
only precious few
can garner the prosperity
it makes us walk
with renewed confidence
we've got a place to go when we die
and the architect resides right here
we've got the american Jesus
bolstering national faith
we've got the american Jesus
overwhelming millions every day
(exercising his authority)
he's the farmers barren fields
the force the army wields
the expression in the faces
of the starving millions
the power of the man
he's the fuel that drives the clan
he's the motive and conscience
of the murderer
he's the preacher on t.v.
the false sincerity
the form letter that's written
by the big computers
the nuclear bombs
and the kids with no moms
and i'm fearful that
he's inside me

bad religion - american jesus

There are several but here is one:

The Harder They Come

Well they tell me of a pie up in the sky
Waiting for me when I die
But between the day you're born and when you die
They never seem to hear you when you cry.

So as sure as the sun will shine
I'm gonna get my share now, what's mine
And the harder they come, the harder they fall
The harder they come, the harder they fall one and all.

Well the oppressors are trying to keep me down
Trying to drive me underground
And they think that they have got the battle won
I say forgive them Lord they know not what they've done.

Cause as sure as the sun will shine
I'm gonna get my share now, what's mine
And the harder they come, the harder they fall
The harder they come, the harder they fall one and all.

And I'll keep on fighting for the things I want
Though I know that when you're dead you can't
But I'd rather be a free man in my grave
Than living as a puppet or a slave.

So as sure as the sun will shine
I'm gonna get my share now, what's mine
And the harder they come, the harder they fall
The harder they come, the harder they fall one and all.

Pantera
Regular People (Conceit)

I've trampled on that road
That you think you own
You have that 'smart ass' attitude
It's time to stop the fiction

I live it every day
While you're mind's far away
I'm out here putting pride on the line
And you case on me with pure respect
One chance at one thing
Hard time is coming
My time, your pain
I reign on you

(Pre) You think you own
I take away
Take it with me
You think you own
I took away
Made it my own

(Chorus) Most regular people would say it's hard
And any streetwise son of a bitch knows
Don't fuck with this

Then so many times
You practice in your mirror
To be just like me
But you just can't see
You ain't got the balls, son

I fight for love of brother
Your friends fight one another
You can't see because your head's up your ass
And just in cast you think you're bad
I crush your rush
I rule YOU fool
I'm immovable stone in your world of weak -- I speak

(Pre)

(Chorus)

"Thorn" by Eightball:

"Yeah, I'm like a thorn on a rosebush
hard and prickly and discarded usually
Unseen, the world shittin' on my hopes and dreams
hope and dream that I can open up my throat and sing
Bring poetry and fly when I spread my wings
and let the world see the beauty in these ugly things
Scarred like a scab, brittle and hard
being green and lame bring little reward
Slippin' is a mistake and most, they pay for it
gruesomely hideous, so you really can't ignore it
Yo, you see them pretty muthafuckas on the TV screen
live and die for that fake shit on MTV
turn the cameras off and watch your hero transform
runnin' away from what real life did for him
Under the glitter and the bling of them expensive things
that's where you find that truth and dog, that'll set you free
The real shit is the shit that I would want for me
not them fools tryin' to copy everything they see
this I will never be, from me you'll never see
before I do it I'll say fuck this whole industry"
