FOAF just tried cow crap and it took forever to get some action, I would use the neglect tek and let it either contaminate or go fruity. Friends yield was down and was told to cut it with verm next time because the cow crap is so heavy. Good news is the ones she did get were blue as crap big as crap and strong as crap...

ive done the same thing but im a little farther along.
i mixed two half pint jars of australias with about three jars of dung w/verm to lighten it.
i let it colonise for 4 days then added a 50/50+ layer.
today i cold shocked.
i have 4 more casings a few days behind these ones, made the same way.
ill post my yeilds as soon as i get a flush from any of these, so far it looks like the shrooms love shit, when they hit dung they get rhizomorphic as fuck and spread fast as hell.
P.S. if youre going to boil it, put it on a real low boil, it does the same thing and it wont smell NEAR as bad.i guess the best thing is to pasturize but boiling works for me. so far no contams from 5 dung casings.

I'm not sure how long you guys are boilng the crap for, but friend has good luck micowaving crap 8-10 minutes with lid loose. Just leave the crap in the mic. for 3-4 hrs after to cool the crap and there is hardly any crap smell at all...

If pinning is a problem, sprinkle a thin layer of peat moss on top. Though it won't be thick enough to hold moisture in (though this is probably fine) the peat will really make pinning easier.

you guys that think its nasty just dont know, i have a weak stomach so i had to stay outside the whole time last time, the worst part is all the nasty little brown/yellow bubbles that you know are just made of left over stomach juice.

thanks for all the input into this post, I have not seen any pinning yet , but the light cycle is on 12/12 and these r treasure coast which take about two weeks to start appearing. i sprinkled vermice on the top or them and sprayed lightly with water

ok heres my australia info:
3/18-crumbled 2 colonized PF style cakes with about equal parts dung to cakes. cased on top of straight verm.
3/21-top layer of 50/50+ added.
3/29-now showing through top layer, cobweb spotted about the size of a dime, sprayed with h2o2 twice
4/3-cold shocked (and i wish i hadnt waited so long to do so) and increased fannings.
4/6-three shrooms pop through along with 15 or so tiny pins, if the cobwebs not still lurking around ill be happy, let this be a lesson to you kids, when mixing 50/50, take out all the sticks.
this process wouldve been faster but my shroom room stays steady at 60 to 65 degrees, good for fruiting but kinda slow for colonizing.
also cold shocked 3 EQ/dung casings today...yum.
will update soon if anybody cares, and if you dont, ill still update.
