    #2851450 -

This is my first attempt using straw and everything looks good so far,but should i wait for it to turn %100 colonized before casing?? Another question is what else could i case with besides verm or 50/50?? My substrate depth is about 4-5 inches and this container is about a foot and a half surface area, any idea's on how much to expect dry??? strain is Pink Buffalo

I would wait till 100%.
That looks like it is a little "fluffy"?I compacted my straw and covered it with clear plastic wrap to make an almost even surface.
You may get an uneven pinset from that unless you patch really good.
Thats just my opinion and thats what I would do.

As for a casing layer,I use 100% coir, but a 60/40,50-50 coir verm mixes are great also.

this was a straw one that was done with 100% coirVVV

But it looks good so far
good luck and keep us posted!

Its better to wait a little more when it reachs 100 % colonization . You can also case with different casing materials like peat . Here is a link where you can find some info - http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/8 .

Well , the yield depends on many things so i can't realy tell how much are you going to get ..

Have patience and everything will be fine
