So, this turned out to be the happiest day of my life. I decided to go for a longer walk and.. Boom!



Habitat


I finally found them fruiting in hundreds on a few meters area, rather than scattered here and there on the side of the road. The real kicker in here is that I found the habitat last year, but the season had already ended by then. I had a feeling that it might be a suitable habitat for Pholiotina cyanopus and my hunch was right! :pipesmoke:

Went to check the new habitat again and found about the same amount as few days ago. Also some pretty monstrous sized specimens observed. :sunny:



I told some of the Finnish psilocybin mushroom forum members to go check these gravel road habitats with small grass tufts and one of the members found this species yesterday in a similiar kind of habitat. :pipesmoke:

Yea the gravely habitat might be a "key" to find this species atleast here in Finland. Got to wait for some more reports from the other guys who are now checking these kinda of habitats. Looks promising. :cool:

I've tried them over ten times now with dosages varying from 30 to over 100 specimens. Yesterday I had 100 and it was quite a nice ride. I don't currently have a scale, but will get one soon.

They are screaming for you to send some for sequencing :cool: for you to make your contribution to mush science. Would also be interesting to see if they contain any amount of amatoxins or virotoxin, even trace amounts.

Haha knarkkorven! Luckily Matias and I are good friends, so we'll probably get over about it and can still be friends.. Probably.. Not guaranteed thought! :lol:

Thanks for uploading the photos Matias! Really nice quality and I had it easier this time to just collect them after you shot the photos, was a joyful day. Hopefully we'll get to go for another round before they're gone. :toast:

i've hunted that species this year but didn't found any :frown:
it seems that they like these type stones? In my region there is not crushed mountain stones like these.

An interesting thing about these are that they have a lot more aeruginascin than most psilocybin mushrooms.  There will be a paper published about this in a few months, you heard it here first! 

I wonder if that would make the experience any different.
