I had trouble getting into discworld as well.


Hitchhikers guide is the only book series I would consider reading again. I've read it through 3 times, but it has been at least 5 years

I read Dune and liked it. Tried to start Dune Messiah several times, but couldn't get into it.

Dune/God Emporer > Children > Heretics > Chapterhouse > Messiah

I haven't read any of the ones Brian Herbert wrote but I would like to at least read about the Butlerian Jihad

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. The concept fascinated me and what little story that was there was compelling, but it read and felt like a fish encyclopedia which is not what I was looking to get out of it.

I still finished it though as I have trouble leaving books half finished if I'm far enough.

Yea, I read Dune a bunch of times, but the sequels melted my brain. The ones Brian wrote are fun, but for like a single read-thru ya know?

If only Daniel Defoe had the courage of a DeSade or Sacher-Masoch and would have written the gay interracial erotica he wanted to write, with that book.
