I definitely have a stack....I just buy books when I hear they are good off amazon so I always have books laying around.

i, too, want to read the psychedelic experience. anyone has it in pdf? i like to put a bunch of books in my pda and have them all on the go.

I tried reading electronic books, it just didn't work for me
I like good old fashion physical pages lol

i still have yet to read Stephen Wolfram's A New Kind of Science.

it's a time consuming read, that's the only thing which has been holding me back.

i love turning pages too but i can carry hundreds of books with me in the pda. and i like reading several books at the same time so it's just a matter if convenience.

yeah dude, i usually read like 2 or 3 books at the same time. people find it odd but i like it.

I haven't read it, but it's my gfs favorite book. It sure is a long one though. I'm waiting for her to finish so I can read it. Brave New World is one of my favorite books, definitely recommend it.

I generally read multiple books at once. Right now I'm reading a book about cultivating edibles, a book called Makes Me Wanna Hollah, A Light In August (Faulkner), and just recently started Pnin (Nabakov). I'm a pretty obsessive reader though, and if I put my mind to it can usually finish just about any book in 2 or 3 days. Generally books don't sit around me too long before I read them.

I really want to check out The Psychedelic Experience. I also want to read the Tibetan Book of the Dead and compare the two.

Check out "Acid Dreams" if you haven't--it's a social history of LSD from Hoffman up to the time of writing.  It gets a bit redundant at times, and a bit heavy on the details so it's a little annoying and plodding.  But there are some gold nuggets in there.  CIA experiments in the '50s, the hippie movement through the '60s--all sorts of groups that were involved.  Then the '70s get a bit weird.  Just getting into the '80s now...I still have a 100 pages to go or so.  :shrug:

I need to check out some Vonnegut, though.  (Yeah, the whole death thing coverage got me intrigued again.)

And I need to read these Gabriel Garcia Marquez books I have.

Funny you mention it, I'm about 3 quarters of the way through Acid Dreams. I love it. So comprehensive but entertaining at the same time.

The Demon - Hubert Selby Jr.
I read like half of it and then stopped, I do that shit with pretty much every book. But I want to finish this one.

And some Vonnegut, a couple of my good friends always talk about it, and like GnuBobo said, the death thing got me intrigued again.
