Chill out Music???

yea i mostly listen to Rap and rock. But i am looking for more chilled out background music. Cause with my cds it is like you either are listening or talking. I want some shit where i can listen to music and talk to people at the same time.

Django Reinhart. And Morphine's Good...it's what I put in should I've had too many cups of coffee. These just kinda leapt to mind.
Edit: Almost any jazz is good for this.

You should also try listening to some Dub - A style of reggae in which audio effects and spoken or chanted words are imposed on an instrumental reggae background.

Check out King Tubby, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Mad Professor, Scientist. Excellent music to chill out too wether you are high or sober.

check out shoutcast.com, search for 'chill' , or my favorite,
'lounge' (some station in the downtempo genre)

there are about 5000 free stations on this site, u'd prob.
find something u like :smile:

also, google for 'stream ripper' to save shoutcast output with MP3 artist/title ID3 tags.

Agree. Also I would say most reggae is great chill out music. Try some jazz too, like Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane or Miles Davis. (I know cliche, but the best!). Hugh Masakela and the Union of South Africa is a must for incredible chill out music.

Frank Zappa has an album called "hot rats" that would be great for ya too. :smile:

I agree with phishgrrl, but when im with a group of people, i also like to put on some paul simon. I think his music is very neutral, nobody ever gets offended by it or ever really hates it... its also good to just cill out and listen to or have as backround music
