Pan Cyan Spawning

I am trying to grow Pan. Cyans and have 4 720ml jars colonizing at the moment. I cant decide if I should mix the spawn with the substrate in autoclavable-filter-patched-bags and wait for it to get colonized - or mix the spawn and substrate in plastic trays and cover them with foil? Is there a big difference? heellpp!

Mix the spawn and substrate in plastic trays and cover them with foil. If you use the filter patched bags you're just bringing more work than necessary. Just make sure as always to be sterile while spawning.

Would you be able to fruit Pan Cyans from a strawlog? Because this is what i am thinking on doing next and if i can, I might as well go for it!

do you mean you just cased the colonized grain? without mixing it with poo/straw/compost or anything else?

Sometimes fruits can be had this way but they will usually be very small.

I am definitely going to try spawning my grain to a cow dung/verm/grass seed mixture. Because I already bought all these things, including having collected cow dung. I just can't decide if mixing in filter-patched bags is better or not
mixing in the trays and covering them until full-colonization seems much easier and is less work.

Mixing in the bags would only be better if you pressure cooked the substrate in the bags. You would need to then spawn them in at least a glove box, preferably a flowhood. Have you read this?
Otherwise, go with the trays and still try to be as sterile as you reasonably can. Don't go crazy over it but maybe at least try to do it in a simple glove box.

yeah I have read that many times that's where I got the inspiration! but glow boxes and flowhoods are expensive I guess...? and also something too big for my room so you mean I should not go with the bags if I dont have any of those two..right? f***!! i even bought an impulse sealer.. btw, I was planning to pasteurize the substrate

You can make a cheap and simple glove box by getting a clear rubbermaid type container and cutting two holes for your arms in the sides. Spray down the inside with isopropyl alcohol, or lysol, etc. You don't even need to attach gloves. You're just trying to reduce air currents that would bring in contamination.
Do some searches, there have been lots of threads about glove boxes.
This way you can sterilize your bags, spawn them in the glove box and immediately seal them like in that tek.
