helpful tips about bugs!
    #2706791 - 05/20/04 06:06 PM (14 years, 4 days ago)

In the garden center i work at, we got in some panflits put out by the World Wildlife fund, and i thought these were some useful little natural tips everyone could use:

Garlic oil bug spray: Soak 3oz f chopped garlic in 2ts of mineral oil for 24 hours.
add one pint of water with a few drops of liquid soap. mix and spray directly on insects- aphids, cabbage loopers, earwigs, and whiteflies.

Starch Spray:  mix 3tbs of potato flour in 1 quart of water and 3 drops of liquid dish soap. Spray on both sides of leaves to controal: aphids, spider mites, thrips and whiteflies

Earwig catcher: Apply a drop of oil or peanut butter onto a section of newspaper. rool it up and place it in the prolbem area. earwigs will collect in the paper. Drown them in a bucket of hot water.

I hope someone finds this useful! and good luck if you've got bugs!
