Tap Water
    #2691297 - 05/17/04 01:10 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

I never drink the stuff personally..

I can just taste the chemicals and crap in it

Can someone post some information about the kinds of chemicals and things they add to tap water that are poisonous and or bad for you in general.. i.e - flouride.

My girl drinks it all the time and doesn't think there's anything wrong with it.. I beg to differ.

Boil your water for 5-10 minutes, then put it through a water filtration product. I use Brita.

The generally only add fluoride, chlorine, phosphoric acid and calcium oxide. Fluoride is the only really bad, though chlorine isn't too good either. The quality of your water really depends on where it comes from, and how good your water company is at cleaning it up - ask them for a detailed analysis certificate.

Tap water is full of chemicals, I only use it for heating veggie dogs cuz they don't really absorb water....other than that I use filtered water, for cooking and everything.

Anyone ever seen Dr. Strangelove?

This thread reminds me of that movie.

Fluorinating our drinking water is all a communist plot to control our brains.

One good thing about Canada is that we have no shortage of relatively clean water. Supposedly my city has some of the best tap water in the world. I drink it all the time, tastes fine. I saw a thing on the news where they had a taste test using 3 different bottled waters and Calgary tap water and the tap water won. Could be cause the people are used to it making it taste 'normal' though.

My tap water is the same as the bottled water they sell in dutch supermarkets.

And I still see people who buy the bottled water

You know what i mean. Chemicals that are not naturally found in water. Chemicals that are extracted, synthesized and Added to water.  :tongue2: Chemicals that I don't want to ingest if I can help it.

the tap water here is very clean and tastes really good (like mountain spring water).
Almost never the water is as good as here, in the last city I lived it was even better. but in many parts of the netherlands the water isn't as good as here.
The water comes from deep layers in the ground and is thousands of years old and therefore also filtered all the time by different sandy layers in the ground.

Water here is pretty good, has a slight chemical (chlorine?) taste, but not nearly enough to keep me from drinking it.

It might contribute to me getting cancer, but what won't?
