note:  if using the inkbird as a temp probe, DONT set it on your steamer lid!  I melted the shit out of my first one:facepalm3:

I won't be using the inkbird for temp just Rh, probably... I still need to read the instructions. I'm using an oil heater and it is surprisingly stable. This is that link for the glass pitris, this is like half off, it's the best deal I've seen so I couldn't resist.

Maybe use coffee filters to hold the grain and lose the liquid with a strainer with larger holes?

15C blade (bottom)


Had a bit of a hard time extracting a neat stipe peace for cloning with the usual #11 blades. A site I was ordering stuff from offered single blades so I bought a few to try out. The 15C, which is like a tiny 10, works better for me. If nothing else, the small size makes me concentrate and work with smaller movements, avoiding perforations.

Using a different blade (e.g. 10) for harvesting/cleaning is also nice, since you're not tempted to flame & use them on agar, so they stay sharp & clean longer.

I use 10's for everything. I accidentally got used to them :laugh:

I think I wanna get some of those 15C's though. Looks nice for
small stipes like the cyans have.

Real talk though am I just getting lucky on my transfers? I only run 20 or 30 pastys at a time. I'm usually clean by my third transfer at the most. Then I try to drop 5 plates with clean culture for inoculation > pint masters> quarts
