Just make your own. Just grind up long brown organic rice up into a powder.

I found it in Meijers Thrifty Acres. If you live near one of those mega-stores that sell groceries and everything else under the sun they will probably have it.

Health shops stock both BRF and ground up flax seed. You could always use whole grain rice as in the 9er tek. I have used it with success. It is also much cheaper then BRF.

No need to powder the rice either,chunky rice flour works just fine..or maybe try some other grain and post the results!

Just an add-on here:

The last time I made substrate, I ran out of BRF, but I had brown rice (I eat it!), so I used by ordinary (but somewhat good quality) BLENDER, and it does a fine job of making the flour a little at a time.

So I basically used 1/2 BRF, and 1/2 HOMEMADE BRF, and everything is colonizing on it right now quite fast too. It's lovely!

I have always made my BRF by buying organic brown rice and powdering in blender.
