Is it ok to harvest a few and let others carry on?? * 1

Sorry guys but there's probably gonna a be quite a few threads from me now it's getting closer to harvest time. Just wanna make sure I do it all right ya know.

Some of the shrooms are growing quicker than others so they are going to be ready for harvest before the slower growers. I know after a harvest, the cakes should get dunked for 12-18 hours prepping for the next flush.

Do I dunk the cake only after there are no more pins showing? Or can I dunk as soon as the majority of shrooms have been pulled, even if there are pins still showing but arent ready to be pulled?

I prefer to dunk after all the pins are gone. If u dunk when pins are growing, u could abort the pins from the dunking process. :shrug:

But more will grow back so its up to you.

What if there are mature fruits and a few smaller ones left behind? do you still dunk or wait for those 2 mature first and completely harvest the cake?

Good question bud. Thats what I was kind of getting at. From what I've heard, I think its best to let all mature first, then harvest, then dunk after.

Just pick the mature ones and stick them in a jar for the refrigerator to keep them cool. Ib left them in there for a few days at a time. When they're done, throw everything in the dehydrator.

I always wait till theres no pins left before i dunk. But thats just my personal protocol for picking.

Yeah that's the plan bud. Pull the ones that are ready as they become ready. Then when there is no pins left, dunk the cake.
I have the 1st one ready to be pulled. This is the only one though that has its veil broken. So I'll pull this one, put it in a paper bag, put it in the fridge, then wait for the others to be ready

Pulled the 1st lot that were ready and weighed in at 180g. Still some left to pull though. This is what's left after the 1st lot have been pulled......
