When I was in grade school in the 60's there was this primitive method for teachers to print up worksheets or whatever they passed out to the class called mimeograph. It had this vinegar smell and nearly every kid would hold the paper up to their nose. But it may be age related. I loved the smell of gasoline when I was young, but not really now. Except napalm of course.

Thankfully I have a bad sense of smell and can't smell most things. The best scent I have ever found was a plastic toolbox made from Stanley. This thing smelled so good that after it was sitting in the van on a hot day I would open it and stick my head in there to get as much of the smell as I could. Thankfully no one ever caught me because I'm sure it looked odd.

Not, when you live in the city it's not. If I can smell piss and shit in the streets and subways with my bad sense of smell the way it is now, I couldn't imagine how bad it would smell with a good sense of smell. I would probably be throwing up all day.

A lot of times people call me to troubleshoot their electrical problems and there is something electrical burning. The people are like "You don't smell that?" and then I have them try to locate where the smell is coming from for me so I can fix it.

Omg yes. Sometimes the paper would still be damp from that wonderful smelling solvent or ink or whatever it was. The ink was a purple color and sometimes kinda faded out. That era was only up to grade 3 or so before more modern technology took over.
