ID request (tasmania)

Hey guys, been lurking for a while and after receiving some subs from a mate leaving the country I've decided to start going for some hunts. Yesterday I found these which I hope are Subs but obviously am not confident so thought I would post here to see if I can get an ID. They were found in Southern Tasmania.

Gills:
Creamy brown -> Dark brown in colour, not attached to stem, very dark green bruising on rim of cap/gills

Stem:
Length (3-7cm), diameter (.3-.5cm), colour (white -> dark brown), texture (stringy and resilient), hollow.

Cap:
Diameter (1.5cm-5cm), colour (honey -> caramel -> chocolate), texture (slimy film before/just after picking), conical and spherical, convex.

Spore print color:
dark purplish brown (see photos)

Bruising:
dark blue -> black on some.

Absolutely fantastic ID request post. Nice to see someone new coming in here and doing it properly. Good photos of each mushroom, spore prints, pictures of stems, caps, gils. Good shit mate  :kaneclap:

I'm pretty confident that all those mushrooms are P. subaeruginosa. I do notice that these two (below) photos have a chocolatey coloured spore print. This is something one will see in P. sub. occasionally. I can't quite tell if all 4 have blue bruising, altho it looks like they do.



Make sure those four mushrooms all display bluing to check.

Also wait for a Trusted Identifier to check in and confirm, but I think you're all set there. Grats :smile:

They are all Psilocybe subaeruginosa

Cheers Dunedinite, the photos you're talking about were taken at a separate location and look a bit darker in real life. Also those spore prints were only on the paper overnight, the others had 24 hours. I think that could be the difference. Thanks again for the reply.
