Possible Gymnopilus Junonius in NSW, Aus

Hello folks,

Pretty new to the mushroom ID game. I came across these earlier at the base of a tree near some wetlands near Sydney. Do these looks like Laughing Gym? Planning on doing a spore print later to double check.

What are the risks with ingesting these?

Gymnopilus spectabilis/junonius are not toxic. Obviously they contain the goods your looking for but I find the trip a tad more mellow and it takes 3-4times what it would to get the same trip off cubes.

Follow up for this. I ate 150 grams, and felt no psychoactive effects. Not super surprising considering the lack of blueing. However I did notice a mild sedative effect: I was quite 'wandery' and didn't know what to do (should I watch a movie, play a video game, etc). Eventually I smoked a joint and had a bath. Recently I've been having consistent anxiety spikes from weed, but there was no anxiety this time. There was still no anxiety when suddenly my landlord showed up at our house unannounced (something that would typically result in quite a lot of anxiety). This could suggest that Gym. Juno has kavalactones, however no psilocybin.
