Yeah i actually walked right past that big patch, and i think other people did too. You look down a woodchip slope to the right as you walk past, and this massive patch is in the grass to your left... i missed it and only spotted it on the way back to the car.
There are plenty of pins there too, and in other places so it should be kicking into gear up there soon.. still no A.muscaria though, weirdly.

Gavn: you can find them anywhere as long as its cold and wet enough. Try your luck in June/July for best results. Research up on Psilocybe subaeruginosa. Go on a few hunts, don't eat anything you haven't had properly ID'd and you might get lucky

Cool. The plasma ball was the first hallucination I ever had, it appeared within my cupped hands.

G'day all!
Long time reader, first time poster.
Anyway, just wondering if these are 'trip' capable.
Picked them this afternoon whilst walking my dogs. I'm in the Blue Mountains.

I only picked one, and it's pretty badly damaged, but I'm quite sure it is a sort of mushroom, as I know they grow around here.

They are not "trip capable", I can say that at least, but I can't tell you what species they are because I don't know..
But they definitely do not contain Psilocybin.

Damn.
Does anyone know what sort of psycadelic mushrooms grow in the mid-Blue Mountains, west of Sydney?
It's been very wet lately up here and I'm quite sure that they exist- plus a few years ago for my 21st we picked a bunch too.
How do you tell if they're psycadelic? I've read all sorts of information on the web and nothing seems to give me a concrete guide- much of the information I've found is actually saying that 'magic mushrooms' share characteristics with poisonous mushrooms!
So some clarification would be great, thanks!

There's heaps of info here. You want Psilocybe subaeruginosa, read this very thread for what they look like.
