ID Request

Habitat: In Ovoid Territory. Box elders/Japanese Knotweed/Stinging Nettle/River nearby.

Location: NE Ohio

Gills: Orange / Closely clustered

Stem: 2-4cm / Hollow

Spore Print: Orange/Rust colour

Cap: 2-4cm. Flat scales

No apparent bruising but also a very pleasent smelling specimen. Was very slimey when first harvested.

Any and all information is much appreciated and will be stored for future knowledge.

I think this is Pholiota species.

I believe you're onto something as it resembles pholiota aurivella.

Hopefully a TI chimes in to confirm.
