New Zealand ID Request
    #25981008 -

Habitat:
Near a large woodchip / horse manure mulch.

Gills:
Light to dark chocolate brown gills.

Stem:
Between 1 and 2 inches long. White with blue bruising on stem. Stem is also hollow.

Cap:
Leathery cap with light hints of blue spots mostly near the tip.

Spore print color:
In the proces of taking spore print, however ome mushroom growing under the other had a dusting of brown spores.

Bruising:
The mushroom bruises blue, mostly where picked out the ground and some coloration of blue - green bruising on the goldy brown cap.

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

They’re psilocybe subaeruginosa. :thumbup:
Make sure all bruise blue.

Brown spores is a redflag. Typically you'd be looking for purpleblack spore prints.

Line all the mushrooms up and take a photo that clearly shows the top of each cap, take another photo that clearly shows the stipe of each. Take a spore print and make sure you know what mushroom goes with what spore print. Take a photo of all the spore prints, with each associated mushroom.

I have found subs with rusty spores, but it's not super common and their poisonous lookalikes tend to have rusty spores, so it's possible that while you have a bunch of subs, you might have a poisonous mushroom or two mixed in...

Most of the ones in the photo look like subs tho, but await a TI to confirm anything.

One of the stems has some spores on it, but its hard to make out in the picture. all the mushrooms are identical physiologically.

They look fine, just make sure there is blue bruising on all specimens.

did the dusting colour look similar to this?;

Definitely psilocybe subaeruginosa then...

For a print yes
For collecting them, you should put them on sterilised foil & put a cup on top for about 24hours.

Not to mention every cap and almost every stem has noticeable blue bruising. Hope they are more enjoyable than weraroas
