[ID Request] - Possible P.Subaeruginosa/Alutacea - East melbourne

1.
Habitat: Leafy soil, in/nearby animal dung (possibly in old bark). Found in East Melbourne.

Gills: Creamy tan gills, Adnate/adnexed

Stem: ~8cm length, 2.5mm diameter, White.

Cap: ~2cm diameter, caramel brown, conical

Spore print color:Not done yet

Bruising: Blue/black bruising around the cap margin. Blue/Blackening on stem (Not seen in photos)

Other information: Smells earthy, similar to P.Subaeruginosa.






[Habitat shot is the same as No.2 (was very close to them)]

Habitat: Leafy soil, in/nearby animal dung. Found in East Melbourne.

Gills: light grey/brown, Adnate/Adnexed

Stem: ~11cm length, 1.5mm diameter, light brown/white, some straight some curved.

Cap: ~1.5cm diameter, light brown brown, convex

Spore print color:Not done yet

Bruising: No noticeable bruising.

Other information: No noticeable smell. The entire mushroom was covered in a gel-like coating when fresh.

#1 is Psilocybe subaeruginosa
#2 looks like a Deconica sp., or maybe Protostropharia.

Agree.  See the ring of blue bruising around the cap? That’s a good sign they’re subaeruginosa, that nice tell tail blue brushing. Should also bruise after being picked.

Spore prints are another great way to tell if they’re subs or not. Place on some paper for 8-24 hours in a still room. Black/dark purple prints is what you’re after :smile:

I think the last one is a protostropharia spp.
