I'm listening to a recital given by Ravi Shankar (sitar) and Ali Akbar Khan (sarod) in honor of their music guru, Allauddin Khan.

Allaudin Khan is still regarded as one of the most remarkable Indian musicians of the last few centuries. He helped to establish the Maihar gharana. Coincidentally, his teacher, Amritalal Dutt, was a cousin of Swami Vivekananda.

Ran across this on youtube and am captivated. Heilung, (which means Healing). Awesome group of artist that really did their homework on Paleo-Germanic tribes. Awesome sound using mainly percussion and human voice that can put one in a trance. Hypnotic vocals / bells/ drums etc...and a high priestess that plays deer bones and sings like an angel.  Hope yall enjoy as much as I have since finding their performances online. Good stereo is a plus, or even 5.1 sound system. Their live show is on youtube,  check out Lifa, Heilung entire live performance, as good or better than this vid and made my jaw drop. Peace

Lol.  I was thinking of listening to that earlier today seriously.  Have seen the video and song so many times. 

Hot Rod and that is it.  Not a true fan but I heard that song as a kid riding in the back of a truck with my cousins and they were all curious about what I was listening to.  Never listened to much garbage.  Some things I shouldn't of at that age.  Whatever.  It was funny to listen to Metallica and Ministry on cassette tapes when younger and people going, why?  It doesn't fit in my culture.

Ready for some music.  I used to blast it with a massive subwoofer in a duplex but now, hence the headline, earphones.  Sigh.  Fuck it.

So much Primus.  Reminds me as a youth, this guy in jail still listens to Primus and he was twice my age at the time.  Still makes me laugh.

One of the best concerts I ever saw was Primus in 3d. They gave you 3d glasses, they had a screen behind them, It was fun to watch stuff fly around.

Between the sets, they played old popeye cartoons. It was a good time. :smile:
