speakers | is this a good deal?

Someone's selling these speakers for $10. Also, can you give me details about the types of connectors these types of speakers have?

Are we talking about the bigger speakers or the little ones in the center? The bigger ones look like JBL's

If I came across a set of $10 JBL's like that, in what looks like solid wood boxes I would buy them no questions asked. 10 bucks is nothing for what may be really fine speakers. ( I cant really see though, it looks like we may have some damage to the tweeter)

It's also possible they are nothing special. The only way to know for sure is to ask the seller to send you the model number of the speakers.

It's really hard to say without knowing what they are. The thing that worries me is it looks like the JBL with the visible tweeter has damage. Sometimes you can correct it with a vacuum cleaner but it depends on how bad the damage is.

The sonys in the middle are probably nothing special.. And im sure you aren’t looking for a DIY project so I’d probably call the seller and talk about the damage on the JBL, if its significant id probably pass. (unless you can get the model number and the speaker happens to be one worth jumping through hoops to save, some speakers definitely are...)

I bought some JBLs at the thrift that were all banged up for $5. I took out the one working tweeter and sold it on ebay for $50. So as grayray said, if you can get the model #, you can look them up and see if they are worth a damn. Audiokarma is a great resource for vintage stereo equipment.
