I have the same problem with my current shoe boxes.. this is the answer I got from Kizzle, he's a TC and been on here since 2011.

oh shit yo that. Thanks Caps.
is it my fault or just shitty genetics?

I thought if the sub was too wet or too dry it could cause small fruits.

Fruit size is mostly related to moisture content of the substrate. Not necessarily surface conditions though. Simply not having enough bulk substrate which is what holds most of the water can cause them to be small.

I concluded my coir only boxes probably dried out a little to much due to cracked lids. I harvest the first flush and gave them a good bottom water/misting and now the lids are sealed.. Ill report back when the second flush comes through. I would like to figure out these small fruit issues too lol

Hey thanks for weighing in :super:

My last few shoeboxes were too wet so I was pretty sure i got this sub pretty damn close to field capacity, who knows

I'll see what the future tubs hold

No problem man lets figure this shit out :toast:

My previous boxes were a coir/verm mix and the fruits were much larger.
I think because the verm holds more moister then just straight coir, so the fruits had more water to pull from.

Next boxes ill be going back to a coir/verm mix lol
