A thought on cake rehydration.
    #1479354 - 04/21/03 03:05 PM (20 years, 9 months ago)

Once a cake has become dehydrated it ceases to produce fruits right? The MMGG has an adaptation which allows for the rehydration of the cakes (a vermiculite core in the cake). The MMGG also suggests drilling a hole in the top of the cake and then adding water that way, but advises that contamination within the hole will not be visible. Is it possible to utilise an injector (one of those syringes you use to inject marinade into meats) with sterilized water to rehydrate, or will this present the same problems as drilling a hole in the top of the cake.

if you want to get fat flushes and get the biggest shrooms possible then dunk it after a flush and you will get plenty enough water to last.

Thanks for the heads up jake. Should the liquid used for the dunk be sterilized water or do you put some other sort of nutrients in it?

wouldnt it also be possible to inject a sterile nutrient solution into the cake with a syringe to keep it fruiting?

You'd be better off gringing up the cake and spawning some compost or straw, IMO
