First bin after switching to coco , what do you think ? PIC

Did poo a few times then tried coco, this is my first tub of coco sub. One brick coco with one quart verm colonized with 2.5 lbs rye berry 14 days ago, fruiting conditions started 6 days ago. Here is a pic as of today. Smell is normal and lots of knots but no pins yet . What are your thoughts?

I think you will be happy you switched. I have some sterelized manure to use but haven't yet. Hoping you will report back how you feel the potency is seeing as you will have tried using both. I know the last batch I did in coir were pleasingly potent. 👍

Looks good to me! I would try to dry up the surface just a bit and get more moisture on the walls. Drying is supposed to be one of the triggers for pinning. I'm sure ya know this.

I am also curious of the potency I personally use Hpoo and have great success Coir is much more available and cheaper though.

Poo produced relatively potent fruit, we will see how the coco does hopefully before long

It's actually evaporation, That's the trigger not drying.

Tub looks good!

The room got in the low 80s today so although the tubs are humid not much humidity showing until temps cool. One thing I am excited about is I am seeing more knotting  than normally on poo, I am a beginner though and have less than 10 finished tubs under my belt

Should your sub ever look alittle dry? As in just no beads of water?

No it shouldn’t, according to the pros who have thousands of posts and tons of knowledge you should always have little beads, sometimes absorbed by a flush and to be replaced by misting. Beads are important

I have Never heard of there being a benefit from dry but moisture is extremely important so you should always have beads

Well when I say "dry" I didnt meant bone dry just not beads. Only reason I mentioned it is cause in monotubs sitting water can cause bacterial problems. Then again I'm no pro and use a Martha! Good to know. 👍👍👍

Pools of moisture are definitely not ideal, I’m just talking about small to medium beads That are separate from one another and sit nicely on the surface, if I had to choose dry with no beads or pools I would choose pools although hopefully not many of them
