I just have to say that i don't know why I hesistated so long in using coco coir in my casings. Before I always used 50/50 verm / peat moss. Effective but to me always left something to be desired aesthetically. Just let me say that I just tried 60 /40 coco / verm and I just can't say how beautiful my casings look. Gone is the ugly brown mud , now I have beautiful casings in a deep shade of maroon. Everyone should switch to this!!

Have you noticed any improvements in growth, or are the benefits solely aesthetic?

My friend is also interested in using coco coir, do they pin and grow faster then with verm/peat moss? larger yields?

coir is the real deal shiznitzle.

Look for Bed-a-Beast or Eco-Earth at your local pet shop.

Mixing your casing layer, wetting it, nuking it, and letting it sit overnight helps that coir absorb all of the moisture it can. Goodluck
