Psilocybin/THC Tincture

I'm intrigued by tinctures.  Would one be able to extract the magic from shrooms then mix that extracted material with a thc tincture to create a nice little psilocybin/THC tincture?  I've never done a psilocybin extraction.  I've read on extraction techniques, but I don't now how effective they are. Thoughts?  Anyone have an extraction technique they recommend?

Yes it can be done. I can't tell you how to do it but I have a friend who has made a psilocybin tincture extraction & another friend who makes cannabidiol & tetrahydrocannabinol tinctures. Putting them together sounds like a business idea to keep on your records until the laws change so you can market it. Sounds like a good mix to me mate, great idea! :thumbup:

I believe psilocybin is unstable in a liquid solution, so timing is critical.

Its definitely possible but the challenge is psilocybin's instability in liquid solutions.

Yeah mushroom extracts are highly unstable. Even in the best conditions, a mushroom tincture will be toast within a month. A couple hours of exposure to light will completely destroy it.

I wonder if u submerged the tinture in liquid nitrogen, would it preserve it like DNA is preserved?

Protecting it from exposure to light is the most important measure

Ok, sounds like it can be done but the limiting factor is degradation of the psilocybin.  That’s a problem.  Guess I’ll need to do some reading.

Definitely.

Maybe forumlate a quick-tinture set up for shrooms only. THC is stable in a tincture but psilocybin is not.

I managed to boil down 420 grams to a consumable quantity once.  It's still a lot for one person to consume, but the result is :crazy2:

So, my plan (when shrooms are finally legal) will be to create a tincture, which will be separate from my cannabis tincture.  My other thought is to completely evaporate off the alcohol from the psilocybin to leave just crystal.  Would the remaining crystal be more stable than keeping it in a tincture?  Then crystal can be simply added to the THC tincture in measured amounts for daily microdosing or for a rocket shot depending on the preference.
