THC Tincture..

Me and my buddy want to make some tincture out of some of our weed.. that way we can stay high no matter were were at.. we have been reading about it, but i was wondering if anyone here has actually tried it and how?  In our research we have found some people say you have to freeze the plant matter first then put it into alcohol, grind it up, just throw it in.. let it sit for 24 hrs, 2 weeks, a month.. there is no real set way we can find, and im pretty sure as long as you let it soak in the alcohol it will extract the THC.  this is what we were gonna try.

1. get about 1 oz of trim & nugs and put them in the freezer over night
2. grind it up in the food processor
3. put ground up nugs/trim into a dark colored bottle
4. cover with moonshine
5. let sit for 2-4 weeks shaking every couple of days
6. filter out chunkies
7. evaporate alcohol off to desired level
8. fill breath freshener bottle with mixture
9. get high and enjoy:)

If anyone could give their feed back on experinces dealing with tinctures or the process in general would be helpful.

me to.. what were looking for is to get it strong enough that it only takes a few squirts to get us were we want to be.. figure at least a pint of alcohol and an ounce worth of weed down to about 28 ml that way we know 1 ml = 1 gram.  this is just what we are thinking can happen, hopefully it will:) I personally do not really like smoking weed i would rather ingest it, but i hate the 1-2 hr delay when you eat it.  I am thinking that if you put it into drops it will absorb right into your blood stream instead of having to go through the whole digestion process then get high. im thinking that we should have some done around Xmas.

i remember back in the day there was a big tincture thread on TOTSE i think. All it pretty much said was to take some bud, grind it up, put it in glycerin, and let it sit for about 2 months.

Turns out that 2 months from the OP was April fool's day.

there was a post about this on the high times website a few weeks ago.  i'm sure you could still find it.  it gave the recipe, the actual solution to soak it in, and the amount of time. (which was two months, if i remember correctly)

i doubt you'll get stoned using tinctures. i've used tinctures for sore muscles before.

if you have a spare quarter of skunk laying around grind it up and soak it in everclear. you'll want to keep the bottle in a dark spot for atleast one month. shake the bottle about once a week to speed up the process. when done, strain out the leafy greens.

if i were you i'd set the tincture out in the sun and let the alcohol evaporate. it might take another few weeks for all the everclear to evaporate but what you'll have left is 100% thc extract. you can use it like hash or even put it in gelcaps and eat it..

i imagine you could get stoned if you drank the stuff but i've never tryed. i know you can get a decent buzz from adding a drop to your tongue and holding it for a minute or so before swallowing.

Yeah, let us know how it goes. I've thought about doing this before, but have never taken the time to try.

While we're on the topic of unusual ways to consume cannabinoids, do you guys think it is feasible to create a form of THC that is readily active when insufflated?

will it gum up if you evaporate it down enough? we were gonna use an old pressure cooker we had and put a hose where the rocker goes so we could collect the alcohol that boils off using an electric hot plate, and also reduce the risk of fumes excaping and killing us:)

When people say insufflate, they are usually implying snorting the substance.
As smoking involves the process of combustion, I do not think insufflation would be a good word to describe such.

I see.. what if you extracted and boiled completely down, then baked in oven or dried it out completely some how then ground it up and inhaled it?

I was thinking along similar lines, Willmafingerdo

Somehow decarboxylate, and prepare into some form that would be comftorable to snort.
The only question is would it actually work, and be absorbed faster?
