Are these hyphal knots or nah? First grow

Are these knots? It’s been a week and a half of FC and all I have are these little white bulbs. They get light 12 hours a day, I keep the lid cracked for FAE, mist 3-5 times per day. The strain is GT. Is it looking okay? This is my first grow so any help would be much appreciated

Its too hard to tell with that picture. Once it fully colonizes. Do not mist 3-5 times a day with a shoebox! You don't need to "water" your mushrooms. The most common thing that new growers do it over mist. There should be enough moisture just in the substraight to get thru the first flush. Keep the lid closed and ONLY mist if its dry. Give the water time to evaporate. That one corner hasn't colonized yet, probably bc its wet. It normally won't start to knot up until its fully colonized unless there is something wrong causing it to fruit early. In my experience the more u mess with it the worse it comes out. Try to leave it alone and be patient. Good luck!

Open it up and take a better pic. Normally u see litte white dots before it starts pinning.

That’s from yesterday or the day before. I’ll take a pic tonight and post but today there looked like there were tiny tiny white spots or dots all over the substrate. I left the lid off for a few hours and stopped misting so much. I put the lid back and left it open with about 2 inches to breathe. I misted once today because there wasn’t water on the sides of the bin.

Still cant see them but if theres tiny white spots like u say it should pin soon. Also looks like your way over misting. Only mist when it dries up and u your surface moisture is gone. You probably only need to mist once every couple of days

Looks like knotting.

SFS is 100% correct about the misting.  Too much moisture in there!  When you make the mono and snap the lid into place, you shouldn’t have to open it again until you see knotting and need to increase FAE. 

No misting should be required before the first flush.

That tray looks soaked and fucked. I see no knots. Just a brutal surface:shrug:

Here’s one I just took, I see like little white balls in the bottom right corner. Left the lid off overnight and completely stopped misting. Does it look better today? By the way thank you all for all your feedback it’s very much appreciated!!

Yes, there are hyphal knots.

Don’t leave the lid off.  Don’t mist.  Put the lid on and leave it alone.

Nope.  Leave the lids on.  The tubs aren’t air tight.  You’d need a gasket and some means of clamping the lid to the gasket and the tub to get them air tight.

Edit:  If you feel a bit unsure about my advice, fold a piece of paper towel in half four times, and then put it under one corner of the lid so it’s held in place between the lid and the lip of the tub.  It’ll hold a gap open.

I’m a newb I’ll take any advice I can get lmao. I’m sure you know much more than I do about this. Yeah it should be able to get FAE I’m not so worried the bin isn’t as airtight as I thought it was. I just left the lid open a couple inches cause I thought it needed FAE all the time.

Mycelium that has colonized the casing layer.  If it isn’t pinning, it should be in a day or two.

Oh wow that's super baterial :frown: u might get some mushies but not many out of that tub. It will probably trich out soon. Sorry. Next time do not mist before the first flush unless its super dry which it shouldn't be. Like I said before over misting is every begginers biggest mistake.

I don't see any knots.... that yellow color is wierd.

The person who hasn't open their tub for 2 weeks have you grown before? Mushrooms need fresh air exchange and while there might be enough air to grow without opening unless you have holes for the container to breathe you'll hurt your fungus.
