Green spots?
    #25843385 -

So I found a small patch of green about the size of a dime in my monotub. I wiped down a spoon with alcohol and scooped it out. Today I found 2 more areas very small that I once again removed. It seems to be in the casing layer. When I scoop it out there’s nothing beneath it. Is my grow shot? I know I’m not supposed to keep messing with my tubs but should I set this one aside and check it everyday to keep the green out? I wish I would have taken a pic of the mold I just have a pic of what the tub looks like now and the 2nd pic is an area where I scooped it away. You can see there’s no mold beneath that area.

Take a picture if it happens again.

If it was mold then yes, your grow is fucked. Scooping away mold won't fix it, there's already millions of spores in and around your grow now.

It could have been bruising though if it was more blue than green, which could indicate drying.

Well it was a very bright green. Not the dull grayish green like you see on moldy bread. And it did look dry so I misted it a bit. Idk why it’s getting dry, I thought the casing was suppose to prevent that?

It’s fucked if it’s growing mold. Scooping it out does nothing it will just keep coming back.

I had a spot of dark green mold in one of my tubs about a week back. I took a jar and pressed it into the sub open side down, to grab out a plug of sub out and keep it from spreading spores when it was disturbed. Seemed like it was just one exposed grain that had the mold. I've had no resurgence of mold(at least the obvious signs of mold that has sporulated), and now I've got a pretty good pinset going in that tub.

Your experience may differ, but I'd say don't throw it out just yet. Maybe separate it from other tubs and keep an eye on it.

EDIT* Just re-read the original post and saw that you had more than one spot of mold. Probably a bad sign.

So today I inspected my tub very carefully and found this hunk of dirt and mycelium sitting on top about the size of a regular M&M with this very tiny spot of green. What do you think? Trich?

Any green is reason to toss, no point risking future grows

In the future you might want to use a knife or scissors to cut your mushrooms from the substrate so your not ripping out chunks of substrate like that. The little stumps left behind won't hurt anything.
