Agar first attempt using “pastywhytes easy agar tek”

I am attempting my first use of agar and thought this tek might be the best to get me started on my agar journey. I am having a slight issue with getting my agar to set. I am using one 25gram sachet of the telephone brand agar, 5 table spoons of potatoe flakes and 1Liter of water. I put all this in an easy pour glass jug and have arranged a sort of double boiler set up. Everything has somewhat dissolved All bar a slight settlement issue everything seemed to be going good. I spooned some of my mixture into a cup and placed it into the fridge to see how it would set and it has definitely thickened but no where near the solidity I would have expected with agar.
Would appreciate some ideas as to why this may be happening?

My first time making agar I was having a similar issue. I don't think I was allowing the agar agar to dissolve completely into the water. As soon as I heated it for longer, and stirred more I stopped having the issue.

all you gotta do is bring it to a boil and it will set. btw you dont have to use 25 grams per 1000 ml of water. you can use 2% agar which would be 20grams of agar agar per 1000 ml. thats a very common agar recipe.
