My friend lives in filth and eats rancid meat
    #25827955 -

I have been staying with a friend who is a chronic alcoholic and cocaine binger. He was forced to retire early by the VA after he lost his toes to frostbite. He has such a limited social network that organizing a psychiatric intervention is requiring some abstract thinking. He refuses to brush his teeth, wash his hands, or use silverware. So, he whips up concauctions of buttermilk and chicken, getting chicken blood everywhere like he is a wizard. Then, he eats the raw chicken with his hands out of the pan he baked it in and spills the chicken grease and buttermilk on the ground. Since he is super drunk and doesn't have toes, he uses his hands to walk on the walls. I cleaned the whole joint and I almost had him convinced that he should abstain from cooking or abstain from alcohol. He went to detox and came home and started cooking, then he started drinking. I admit that I drink, but I have to because I have never actually seen someone drink like this. I mean, I've been around these guys for years, but I would not choose to let them behave this way. Besides, this guy is one of the most decent of this bunch. I get around and just assume that his sensible morals are well ingrained because of his decent upbringing and experience in the service. He does steal wine, but he demonstrates a type of awareness about social issues that is rare, especially in the most progressive(hubris) state in the union.

I took him out to the bar, which might be counter-intuitive, but I consider him to be a socially excluded person. He keeps citing an idea that he has an awesome immunity from living in jungle mud and blah blah blah, but I don't know where to find a woman who likes jungle mud conditions. I think he is hopeless about hygiene, but I don't know how to inspire someone to be daily hygienic. I can't afford to pay this guy with alcohol to brush his teeth every day, but I think that could work.

I don't think he is anti-Obama, and I haven't read Michelle's book, but will he read it?

It's hard to keep people sober without locking them up.  I learned and am learning the hard way LOW RISK DRINKING.  The military has a huge problem with alcohol and nicotene.  Probably even cold pills.

He might ink he's not worth anything better for himself.  My Dad was such a drunk he had dishes just rotting for a long long long time (black scum).  I don't know if he ever ate outside the legion.  The liquid diet is bad news.

Honestly I'd be afraid to call the cops on your friend.  Not wanting to do more damage.  Sounds like he should be in a nursing home or group situation like that.  If it wasn't for my dog, I'd have a life but not as good of judgment.

This dude probably just has not a lot going for him.  That's not the respect a vet deserves.

He said he would read "Becoming." I might try to reinforce abstaining from cooking. I don't know how people believe microwaves cause cancer and shit like that. This is like the second time I have been in this situation. I am a single guy, I am anti-consumerism, and I find microwaveable meals made by companies who have a social impact. It is absurd that single guys are "home cooking" 20lbs of meat per week and living in a house covered in grease.

The thing that sucks when I try to push him to quit cooking is he quits eating. He wont eat out of the microwave.

I want a bitch who doesn't cook but has a fat ass. I will make her a microwave dinner if she makes me mine.

Mutual aid is "you get to live in my cess pool if you get me high." Both of these guys who have helped me out are on disability. They both claim to be intelligent and they both say they want to get married (to their mom's) and they both live in filth.
They think the microwave is going to give them cancer, but it will be the salmonella.

Maybe real maybe not.  It's hard for a single guy to do everything in a house.  My step dad did a good job when he was alone I guess.  He didn't cook much.

Single guys like me, we get stuck in our ways.  We tend to enjoy other activities.  My step dad worked a lot so he probably didn't mess his house up much.

My Dad mostly drank.  His mom died and other things happened and he fell apart.  Lost a leg and had a fake hip.  The VA let him go to the bar when he was in there.  They'd let hims smoke and all that.  It's hard to give up smoking for me too (a vape helps cut that back so I'm not totally upset with it).

Liberals and Republicans alike, don't seem to care much about those that need some help.  The system in general is very poor and a lot of cost to those trying to get help.

If they really want free healthcare for all, they better have a system that works.

I know right? If it is for real, I guess Bicycle's heart is in the right place... but there's only so much a person can do for others.
