This place used to be ao much cooler
People had way more interesting stuff to talk about
And people were way Friendlier

Always seemed the pub was a more livley place and people acted more like friemds to each other

I would blame some of it on "chain threads" that go on for hundreds of pages. There didn't used to be so many of these. It seems to water things down. Half of the active threads are topics like, "say the first word that comes to your mind," not exactly quality conversation.

Hey now, I started that thread before the others and it actually has a purpose.  I love word association games, and to me that's what that thread is about. I personally read every post in that thread. Before I read the next post, I think of a word and amazingly many times I find the word in the following post is the same one I thought of.  Anyhow, I get your point, but don't dis on my thread. :smile:

Youre right i dont know what it was like in the 2000s
I had a long stent of maybe 2 years away and it is just how i precieve it now i suppose you have a valid point

Sorry to pick on your thread, I'm sure a lot of people enjoy it since it's been going for so long.
My point is that when I go into the pub lately half the threads are old and hundreds of pages long.
To me these threads can feel a bit stale. It's on all of us to post quality content though.

Too many sub-forums waters everything down because there aren't enough users to need that many. Some mods with bad attitudes run people off.

Just not enough members. Too many people flocking to reddit to have the same fucking arguments over and over again. The people on here are actually cooler then the ones 4 years ago. There's just less of them.

Sorry to pick on your thread, I'm sure a lot of people enjoy it since it's been going for so long.
My point is that when I go into the pub lately half the threads are old and hundreds of pages long.
To me these threads can feel a bit stale. It's on all of us to post quality content though.

OP I think sometimes people forget that there's real people on the other end of the thread and say things they'd never say in real life. Or we're caught up in our own life and emotions and forget others are maybe going through a hard time too and probably don't need or want our assholery.

All the things that negatively impact the internets everywhere.
