He didn't want to get law enforcement involved in this hoax, that happened by accident.

He initially wanted a sympathy publicity stunt that would- 1. Reinforce his political ideology and hatred of Trump. 2. Bring the selective attention for him and his career.

Once law enforcement started the investigation he started to get very nervous about the stunt, but still doubled down because he had no other choice. The MSM jumped on this like flies on shit because it was a dream like narrative, at that point he was done and past the point of no return.

My guess is that the police will just say there is no other information from the investigation and he'll get off the hook with his bunk story. The MSM will still act like this was a real event to cover their own asses and move on to the next bullshit narrative.

We have to remember, he's surrounded by people that accepted the narrative of him being the king of victimization, it gave him enough courage to even attempt such a poorly planned and completely unrealistic "hate crime" hoax.
