I've read that im supposed to shake the jars at some point but I haven't at all yet.  Is it necessary?

I have no idea why people do cakes. Unmodified tubs are just as easy if not easier and the rewards far outweigh those from cakes.

Tubs give you so many mushrooms you don't know what to do with them all.

I guess if you're only wanting a few mushrooms then cakes would be your best bet :shrug:

It's my first grow and I found the cakes to be the simplest to learn.  I'll be trying for the tub next but forsure brf cakes are the best way to go for a beginner.  Simplest TEK of the ones I've seen. I'd love it if you could provide a good tub tek for me to try!

All you need is an unmodified tub.

Spawn (colonised grain in jars. Kind of like your cake but with something like birdseed instead)

Coco coir as the substrate that you'd mix the broken up spawn into.

That's it. Search for 'unmodified tub tek'.

I'm sure Bodhisatta did a good one (trusted cultivator).

Bodhi did the unbodified tek. I have one and I have no complaints other than it’s too big.
