Hell, open the L.A. Times, and you'll probably find that at least 1 person got stabbed to death in a parking lot on any given morning.  I just don't see why a mild ass-whupping should be national news, even if it's a gay, black, celebrity.

The guy claimed "they" put a noose around his neck. It's a hell of a story he tells, many people think he's lying about the whole thing.

Also, gay blacks are getting assaulted be MAGA supporters? I don't think so.

No one is denying violence is occurring, but you're attempting to put some sort of idealistic narrative to it, that's the issue here.

Shall we truly examine the most common perpetrator and victim outside of the demographic?  I didn't think so.

You're the one trying to build a narrative now.  I was just being realistic.  There are tons of assaults happening every day.  Some of those assaults are commited by maga-morons.  Some of the assaults commited by maga-morons are probably perpetrated against black folk.

I have no idea what you're talking about, what narrative am I trying to build?  I'm questioning what you're attempting to assert.

Again, if you want to examine the actual numbers, we can go down the road. There's no MAGA attacking blacks issue here, so why are you buying into that false narrative?

No, because the story doesn't really add up. I'm not saying it's impossible, but Smollett is laying it on real thick. I don't think he's accustomed to people even questioning his victimization mentality.

BTW, he has a record of hatred for Trump, so the motivation is definitely there.

I'm only asserting that an attack against a lone black man, who also happens to be a famous homosexual is not far fetched.  It is also plausible that the alleged attackers were trump-following idiots.  They may not have been, but the only available witness says that they were.  maybe the cops will track down the perps and we'll all find out.  It still won't be newsworthy.

yes there are witness's who confirm his account, why is it surprizing a group of people largely know for being racist and homophobic would attack a black gay man?? MAGA is literally considered a hate symbol to some people..

His friend on the phone isn't a credible witness in most people's opinion. :shrug:

And yes, it's possible that a hate crime can occur, but this story is just filled with so many holes at this point.
