Yyyyeah I’ve never heard of cutting a fox hole. Just let the drop absorb and evap for ten fifteen minutes before you wrap the plate.

Honestly, I usually just make a little circular motion with the tip of the syringe to spread the drop out slightly. Just enough to increase surface tension to keep the drop in place. I haven't had any problems as far as the drop sliding around so far, not counting the time or two that I subsequently dropped the petri dish. :grin:

Bad idea, it's an extra chance to contaminate the plate. Lift open plate just enough to get your needle in the center, 1-2 drops from syringe, close plate. Then just gingerly wrap them in parafilm while holding them level.

Whatever. That’s what transfers are for. I assume I’m going to get s contam on every germ plate anyway. I’ve never had a contaminated germ plate. The sab does what it does,

Then why are you calling it a germ plate? Are there not germs on said plate?
