What is in my jars?

Hello All,

New guy here, for the last 4 weeks Iv been colonizing PE in 12 different jars in A double container grow kit. So far everything has went to plan, colonization has looked perfect however I came home from vacation to all my jars fully colonized and some appear to have these little dots of brownish/blackish  stuff. It’s not all of them but a few. I’m hoping it’s not bad and is just a natural part of the process but  have no idea what this is and can’t find any similar looking posts. Temp is kept at 80 and they didn’t show up till the very last week of colonization. I will try to attach a picture below.

Wait for the pros to chime in, looks like metabolites to me. That foil should not have stayed on there. Also, you dont know that its only against the glass, for whatever that matters, because you can only see whats against the glass anyway. :shrug:

Interesting, this is my first time but the instructions said to keep them on loosely, I’ll remove them tonight. I was planning on dunking them tomorrow. I have a friend that said it looks like dying mycelium due to higher moisture and not enough FAE.

Those wet spots arnt a good sign. Its probably bacterial.

Those are grain jars right?

It looks about done, you could spawn them but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Nah looks like half-pint BRF jars to me. And I second that bacterial theory. Hope it doesn't look as bad IRL.
