Hello. Newbie here. Was wondering why the substrate is moving around in there when I tilt the jar. Too dry? Is there any way to fix this problem or is it too late? 2 things I've noted- I used home ground brf (last time) and didn't realize the inconsistency in the grind until well after pc the jars (2-6 weeks or so). also last time i pc and wait, from here on out, I pc the night before and inoc. the next day (Im learning) Using 3 diff. strains (EQ, Hawaiian and GT). I'm not sure what to do.

So you PC'd the jars and innoculated 2-6 weeks ago? When the mycelium network colonizes the BRF/verm the cake will shrink inside the jar. Is this what you are talking about?

I Pc'd the jars, let them cool, and they sat idle for 2-6 weeks (I pc's them at different times). I was trying to detect contams. before inoc. I've read that this can be a bad idea because of the drying factor. Here's my germination notes after inoc 8 days ago- GT- 6 jars (1/2 p.)-no germ. 5 jars-germ at 1 point 4 jars-germ at 2 points These look really dry (when tilted, part of the substrate rests against the glass, but the other 20-30% crumbles and slides around). Does this help? Thanks Hawaiian- These look better 1 jar-no germ. 3-1 point 5-2 points 3-3 points EQ- 6 jars-no germ. 3-1 point 3-2 points

Depending on how you sealed these I wouldn't be surprised if your jars did dry out. Waiting to innoculate your jar after sterilization is good only to check your method IMO. I would suggest from now on to PC, cool, then innoc ASAP. Hopefully the ones that have started germination will continue to grow well. The ones that show no signs of growth I would keep in the incubator for a few more weeks. Be sure to check for contams every 3-4 days. I also hope you have a LARGE terrarium because 3 dozen jars at once is quite a bit! I hope this helps. Good luck!
