Hey guys, I'm making this post to show my story with this specific grow. So basically, my first grow. I bought 2 cakes of vendor mycelium. Initially, I started with the bag provided, after things seemed dry I built a SGFC. Things weren't looking too good there either and I decided to build a humidity chamber and put the cakes there. One of them grew some shrooms, the other cake was looking pretty bad. Here are pics of said cake towards its last day I left it in the humidity chamber:

I got a lot of feedback from people saying things were pretty bad, but also some positive encouraging feedback which was really helpful. Pastywhyte even commented and said " The OP’s blocks are very bacterial and in stale conditions. Need more FAE. Pseudomonas is already setting up shop, there is much necrosis in progress. "

I decided to take the cake out, dunk it for 2-3 hours and I shredded it with a cheese grater and birthed it in a shoebox 1:1 (coir/verm). I wasn't expecting much to be honest. Here is a pic of how the shoebox looks now (a week later):

I had to dub tub because the 2 biggest ones were pushing against the lid! I never expected such growth, the tub is pretty deep too.

So I just wanted to make this post to give people in similar situations as mine positive vibes that things are not all lost. I had posts of people telling me that it was a terrible idea to spawn to bulk and that it wouldn't even colonise. I'm not writing this to say to those people that they were wrong, lol it's my first grow, what do I know. Its more about an ode to how amazing and resilient mycelium is and above all, my first grow taught me that one of the most important things to have is a positive energy in all stages. Love the process, not just the outcome. Anyway, I hope this will give a positive boost to anyone who feels that things are looking grim. Peace!
