Running out of gas mid way on your barrel run

OK guys so I know my barrel should have run for 10 hours
But the gas only last for 5 hours
My back up (that should be full) is empty (someone forgot to fill it)

What's my options?
I can only get a fill in the next 15 hours

Should I just ditch all my grain(its a fuck load)
Go get tank filled 15 hours from now and run it for 10 hours?

I mean if I knock them up its a 50/50 odds:shrug:(after 10 hours ontop of the 5 hours)

Well OK so I'm going to go get a refill of the 2 gas tanks
Then I'm going to run the barrel for 10 hours

I feel like your volume might be beyond the scope of most here.

I think you made a reasonable choice based on getting the sterilization time you require. Not a 5hr, delay then the remaining 5hr, but a 5r, delay, then the full cook. As long as the grain isn't broken down (majority burst kernels) then good to go. Unless the cost of fuel if it fails outweighs the cost of the grain that is, but I imagine you've done that cost analysis.

If you don't mind me asking, can you detail your grain prep? Grain type, volume and sterilization method? Just curious

I have a big blue drum (think its 50l or more) that I use to do my grain soak
Here by me it gets fucken hot so filling the drum with grain and water then placing out side is the same as having it on a simmer

Lol yes that's how hot it is here by me.


I don't know my exact coffee strength number(yes I soak with coffee) but I aim for 25% (correct number to use is 50% strength)

I use to soak with coffee. Dnt knw why, was jst part of the tek. What is that suppose to do?
I dnt knw what the fuck your doing exactly but i wud not let the rye soak for more than like 6 hours before cooking it. It grows all kind nasties that leave behind shit that prevents growth.

It's so hot where you live that a 50L drum sitting outside reaches 195F/95C?

No not that hot
The water heats up
Today is a bit colder the usual
But temps of 35c is pretty normal sometime even 40c
