Sure, but we both know there is no "They" coming for me.

The arrogance and self importance in some of the paranoia on here is cringe worthy.

I'm not paying anyone for a copy of my genotype, certainly not if I have to sign over rights to it.  I already know I'm just Jewish enough to hit most of the cancer markers.  Other than that it's north of 45 soup.

But both 23 and Me and Ancestory sell your data.  If you think of your DNA as an organic computer code, unique and personally yours, then what they’re doing is illegal.  The courts just haven’t been asked to stop them yet.  Your DNA and biometric data are extremely valuable to you, you should be entitled to a cut of any profits made using your data.

Don’t kid yourself.  It doesn’t have to be you personally that they are targeting.  It could be an entire race or ethnicity.

The people who put Jim Crow laws in place would’ve been all over 23 and Me like flies on a shithouse door, for example.  History is full of examples of genetic discrimination.
