which could provide some immediate indication as to why the word does not see utilization in the US or Australia, where French language did not go on to maintain such a cultural significance

a beanie is only a toque to non-Canadians if they wear it to keep warm at a hockey rink


it also makes me wonder how many members have been reading my posting of the word with the phonetic sound of "tuuk" as opposed to reading it as something along the lines of "tokue"
