What to do with waste from cutting mushies off?
    #25678243 -

So I cut my mushies off as close as possible to the surface of the cake

What can i do with the cuttings? Basically just stem parts that I didnt cut off with the mushroom.. Can I grind them up and put into capsules? Dry them and just eat? Or do they not have enough psilocybin?

Thanks!

Vermiculite is not asbestos. Years ago verm was contaminated by asbestos back in the mid 2000s. Asbestos free now. There's plenty of articles online about it.

Inhaling perlite dust is probably worse.

Dry them out and eat them

Make tea or eat them. Caps have just a fraction of a percent more magic than stems. Make a teabag out of a coffee filter if you're concerned with floaties and glitter.

I think most rookie growers would be shocked at what seasoned cultivators consider waste. Law of diminishing returns for time expended.

Anything that's attached to the substrate is trash imo. Sure u can eat it. But how longs it gonna take to clean it b4 u eat it? Why to that when u got good whole clean shrooms?

But do whatever u want man. Make tea with the spent substrate

Why eat it tho? Are u really wasting that much by throwing it out? There's probly only a dry 8th of stem butts from a whole monotub

Most people just leave the stumps on the substrate. U can cut the whole harvest down with a knife or a string using a sawing motion.

Any mediocre cultivator will be able to grow more shrooms than you could possibly consume.  Keep it clean and dont waste your time trying to salvage dirty butts and shit.  Theres guys on here burying 5 gal buckets full of dried shrooms or throwing them in their fire pits

So on a cake.. if I just twist and pull the fruit off is that actually bad... I don't cut them off. They just come off with a twist.

Little verm and shit on there but I just dry them and eat. I guess i can always still remove the bottom after I've dried them 🤷‍♂️
