Bruises purple on the cap only. Flesh is white and does not bruise. I didn't take a print but the gills are rust brown.

Really? Considering the lack of ring and the facts that it was growing out of dirt I discounted that as a possibility.

That would be sweet though. I've only found lutes once and I was already tripping so hard from the azzies I found earlier that I lost them and didn't get a picture. They are beautiful mushrooms.

no idea sorry i cant be of much help lol maybe its some other type of gymn? thats what it reminds me of anyway. im just sure its not luteofolius it also looks fairly dried out

if i had to guess i would guess its in the genus gymnopilus  :shrug:

Thanks for the input! Are there any non woodloving gyms? This was growing straight out of dirt, grass and rocks.
