No one has a "narrative" on immigration except you.

The only reason its even in the discourse is because the rich keep duping people like you into making it an issue.

Oh, so the elite convince people like yourself that bringing in immigrants benefits EVERYONE economically and culturally, but at the same time convince others that it hurts US workers?  :flowstone:

I can assure you 99% of the elites narrative on immigration is positive in nature. It's about the money and always has been.

That's a very interesting assurance.  Do you have a source for that number?  Or is it make believe?

He thinks the elite who regularly deflect towards immigrants actually like immigrants.

Record deportations, an aconstitutional, militarized border, and literal concentration camps are just proof that the establishment loves immigration.

Watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC or read the NYT's, Wash. Post or any other MSM nonsense and you'll see the same narrative.

There's no "source" for this reality, it's an obvious observation.

Yeah, and we still have tens of millions of illegals living in the US and millions of legal immigrants coming into the US every year.

Yeah, the elite really hate immigration coming into the US.

What's the percentage of deportations relative to immigrants coming into the US every year?  A micro fraction, talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.

that "millions of legal immigrants coming into the US every year" seems to be an exaggeration at best.

from 2010 to 2016, the average yearly number of people granted permanent legal residence was 1,054,000

what's a micro fraction?

about 1.18 million people were granted permanent resident status in 2016 according to the DHS.

in 2016 there were about 446,000 removals and returns of people who had illegally gained entry into the US, again according to the DHS.

those figures make your micro fraction equate to 38%.

if you only consider removals and do not include returns, your micro fraction becomes 29%.

having said all that, removals and returns of those illegally entering the US have pretty steadily declined since around 1998.

I think it's important to notice the difference between border enforcement and interior deportations.

https://www.ice.gov/removal-statistics/2016

"ICE conducted 60,318 interior criminal removals"

Yeah its almost like militarizing a border that is thousands of miles long is an unfeasible policy.

It can be, that's why we should get rid of birthright citizenship and the illegal employment of non-US citizens.

Yeah lets tear up that constitution you want soooo badly for people to follow.

We can hold immigrants to the standards we set for ourselves whilst we ignore those same standards. Quintessential Americana.

You: If these immigrants would just FOLLOW THE DAMN LAW things would be fine.

Me: The law says these children born in the US are US citizens.

You: The law is absurd.

Abolish ICE?    I doubt it,  people still want enforcement.

ICE isn't viewed favorably by a majority of Americans:
Quote:
The national survey, conducted among 1,007 adults on July 11-15, revealed that, in general, adults view most federal agencies favorably.

Among the agencies the respondents were asked about, the majority of adults view these agencies favorably:

•The National Park Service, 83%
•The Census Bureau, 69%
•The FBI, 65%
•The CIA, 61%
•The Department of Health and Human Services, 60%
•The Department of Justice, 58%
•The IRS, 57%
•The Environmental Protection Agency, 54%

However, the only agency that wasn’t viewed favorably by a majority of respondents was ICE, which was viewed 47 percent unfavorably compared to 44 percent favorably.

That doesn't mean much, she needs to stay away from the ICE and borders issue.

Kyle Kulinski just destroys Chris Stigall on Fox News.  The one part that gives Fox a point is where they interject a short clip of a democratic candidate (Cori Bush) who wasn't ready for a simple tax question (the answer should simply have been the rich should pay more than they are today).  But otherwise, Fox looks moronic.

The is a video about whether Democrats are going too far left.  The answer is clearly no.

The problem today for the left is they are way too far out of touch with the radical social issues.  This turns too many people off when it comes to the basic questions of wealth inequality.

The issue of taxation can't be discussed in 2 minutes on TV, it's too complicated.

I agree.

I used to be a Democrat under Obama, but eventually the left became too radicalized. Even senators like Cory Booker, Maxine Watters, Hilary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi are too desperate to please the alt left. This mistake resulted in many moderates leaving the Democratic party.

And the Democrats don't seem to have any candidates who are willing to be moderate.

can you clarify what you mean by the underlined portion of your post?  "too desperate to please"?  no comprendo.  did you mean to use a different word than desperate?

They are desperate to entertain the radical left for votes. Hilary calling Trump voters deplorables; Watters calling crowds to harass Republicans; the Hawaiian senator during the Kavanaugh hearing telling men to shut up.

If you want to alienate a vote base, then calling people deplorable and telling men to shut up will work.

Would you vote for someone who called you deplorable or told you to sit down and shut up?

I mean, this kind of thing should be obvious.

People are entitled to their opinions. It's not like hillary was wrong about trump voters, or vile people like mcconell shouldn't be called out on their BS in public. Especially if they avoid any type of open town hall.

But I do get your point. Every time trump rails against "the dems" my interpretation is that he's not limiting that to politicians, he's talking about 50% of the US population.
