Well without cars it would have been hard for the perpetrators to logistically be in a place to harm someone, be in a situation where they can get away with it, and be brazen enough to understand their advantage.

I think the problem here is cars. A car is a lot more powerful of a weapon than a gun. Ban cars. Good for the environment too. Our car market simply props up foreign production marketplaces. Fuck em.

One thing I've noticed is that all of these mass shootings happen at places I never would be at.
Country music and gay bars. Maybe these shootings are God's wrath ffs.

My moms friend is a teacher at Stoneman Douglas and his assistant was killed. Since my mom made comments on his Facebook posts, I got to see the convos between teachers and students. It was pretty brutal. People asking if they knew what happened to different people. People reporting that someone was dead or wasn’t hurt.

I dont usually talk about this but my cousin was killed in a shooting in colorado
springs 2 years ago. Shit hits home for me and saying that people dying in mass shootings is part of gods wrath
is just fucked up.

This is my cousin who I grew up with and miss every day.

I believe in the 2nd amendment and I own guns, but to deny the problem in our
country is to deny reality. Th man who killed my cousin would have been stopped since
a woman called the police on him for carrying an ar15 down the main drag. The
operator told the woman he was breaking no laws since CO is an open carry state.
30 minutes later he shot my cousin in the head.

Man Colorado Springs has a lot of gun violence. This guy was openly threatening people by walking down a street with an assault weapon and the cops couldn’t do anything? That is fucked.

Colorado Springs has a very high rape rate as well. You know what city has a very low rape rate? Dearborn Michigan, which is 40% Muslim. Right wing propaganda is ridiculous.

As family we were allowed to listen to both calls cause the same woman
called the cops again after she watched him shoot a cyclist who was riding by
him. The calls made me lose all faith in our police force and their ability to
handle emergency situations

Sounds like over-simplifying to me, I did not state that guns were the solution, you only asked if I'd been shot at.

What motivates me to be a proficient gun holder/carrier/owner is not fear of the one time I've been shot at, but that it is the latest type of self defense in a dangerous world. Do the politicians who make these rules have armed protection? Of course they do.
