Many of us experience post traumatic memories without committing mass murder.

I suspect there is more to the motivation.

Stalin attributed the success of the soviet red army to the United States industrial capabilities in the first part of the war.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lend-Lease

The united states provided the USSR with over 95% of its supplies during World War II. If it wasn't for the USA the world would be sucking Hitler's dick.

I mean if it wasn't for oceans the USA wouldn't have been spared its industrial capabilities during WWI which allowed it to become the production power house it became during WWII and beyond. But Germany ramped up fairly quickly. Far quicker than the USSR did.

Semi-frequent mass shootings are something of a phenomenon here,
especially because they often occur in areas that are otherwise low-crime, low-murder rate

A lot of people - especially foreigners get the impression that the US is crazy violent or something

But once you crunch all the numbers, the total rate isn't really crazy here

And then to put it further in perspective; 54% of US counties reported 0 murders, 51% of murders took place in 2% of counties.

So if you're trying to say safe here, well... it's pretty fucking easy honestly  And most decent areas in the country are as snug and safe as anywhere in the world.

Nah, thats some bullshit.  Studies have been done on massive scales that show more guns = more violence.  Directly related.  Studies have also been done that show that MOST people who are just 'armed citizens' are actually shit at using their weapons and either don't use em, escalate the situation and make it worse, or hurt themselves or others.

Current gun laws are definitely not living up to standards.  Everyone having guns is far far far worse.  Statistics don't lie.

Sounds like you're skewing the stats to match your narrative, Higher crime areas increase the number of firearm owning/carrying civs. We are at a historic low for all crime rates (except maybe political), but you wouldn't know it listening to the news.

I didn't post any stats so how could I be skewing them to fit my narrative?  You guys can google shit yourselves.  This is not exactly a new argument and you *CAN* actually find statistics and studies done in a scientific, unbiased way, if you choose to look for them.  That usually means not going to pro gun, pro republican sources, as well as avoiding blue state, leftist, sites.

There are a fuck load of factors that go in but there is direct and proven correlation that more guns = more use of guns = more accidents = more intentional misuse.  The more people have of something, the more it gets used.

Feel free to look at the car industry for a comparable set of simple statistics.  More cars, more accidents, more deaths by car.

If we somehow had a magical button to wipe out all the guns in the US, murder rate by firearm would drop to almost nil.  People would find ways to get them back in or make them, but it would be slooooow.  Another method for removing them is to cause their price to rise to really high levels so the average person can't justify buying one just to go rage on someone else, act gangster, etc.

If you want to see how effective that last part is, look at fully auto weapons and how often they get used as murder weapons.  Access to the tool has everything to do with how often said tool is used.  There is a reason you don't see people throwing hand grenades and shooting RPG's into nightclubs, using truck mounted 50 cals or land mines.

The big issue with the US is that guns are built into our very core culture.  It's the same reason everyone arguing against gun control is so sure it doesn't work (when clearly we have examples of countries in existence today that do it just fine).  As usual, education is everything.  If you raise many generations of people with the thinking of a particular thing it's going to be damn near impossible to convince them otherwise.  You only need to look at the impact religion has on the world and the struggle we have even in first world nations to convince people of even the most basic science.

Gun control how the left wants it will never work here until we educate generations of people away from the idea that they have some core need to have a fire arm because it's their right.  No gun control like the right wants will never work because people are inherently emotional piles of shit with little self control and the inability to not escalate things so we will continue to shoot each other when the option is available.

I am btw, a gun owner, and I have actually had a gun pulled on me.  I don't want my guns "taken" from me either but I am not naive to the nature of people.  The entire issue with gun control isn't that removing it is going to stop all murder. People will still find ways to murder, because again, we suck, but it does lessen the amount of excess high probability killing.  It's a lot harder for someone to kill someone with their bare hands, or a club than a gun.  Violent people will still be violent but the survival rate is a LOT higher for people not on the receiving end of a gun, specifically.

more guns may equal more gun violence, but i don't think that more guns equals more violence. For instance, in China, where gun control is super strict and the government is super restrictive about everything, there are knife attacks. Now these attacks normally don't have the casualty numbers of the higher gun attacks, but they can get up there. Especially in situations the LEOs don't have weapons either. But in China there is state controlled media so these attacks don't get played up to the notoriety that they do in this country, so the problem seems damped. But the numbers of public violence in China rival that of the USA. The problem isn't the guns. The problem is society. No one wants to live like this, but we can't complain because of the perception of life being the best it's ever been.

You waisted your time postin that.

THE GUN and DRUG DEBATE IS THE SAME ARGUMENT.

GUNS AND DRUGS ARE nOT BAD, ITS JUST BAD PEOPlE ABUSE THEM.

If you take guns away . People can still make bombs out of household items. I mean it's not going to do anything.

Now I do agree with common sense gun laws. If your a flight risk obviously no guns. Obviously no fully autos. If your a felon or mental Illness yada yada yada. But removing guns completely is not the answer. Neither is the drug war. That's how you end up with bullshit like k2 . That's how you end up with fentanyl literally in everything

It is NOT the same argument at all. The only commonality between the two is both are regulated by laws.  No one throws heroin at someone in a rage to kill them.  Drug prohibition and gun control are totally different and apply to different parts of human nature.  You are trying to compare something designed with the purpose to kill to something designed to heal or enjoy.

The gun argument has never been 'blaming guns'.  Only a moron would blame the tool and not the person.  The gun control argument is very clearly about making it harder for people to gain access to said tool because they are not responsible or mentally sound, or just altogether remove them for the extremist viewpoint.

They didn't enter my home.  They were cowards and sped off.

Had they came in, a gun would have been the solution and the end of it.  At that point I would be defending my life and my families.
