Yes I read it but I guess I didn't make my point clearly. My point was that even trump, as proud of his ignorance as he is, wouldn't be stupid enough to think he can change the constitution with an executive order. But I was wrong.
I agree it will change nothing, and I think it's intended to fire up his base. If his base believes he can do it, they either didn't pay attention or never went to school. I read somewhere that this 'no birthright citizenship for children of non-citizens' scheme is a lunatic fringe idea that's been around for over a decade.

Yet, every first world nation outside of the US and Canada doesn't allow birthright citizenship.

So in reality, the US and Canada are practicing a "fringe" policy.


It's a lunatic fringe idea that the constitution doesn't currently guarantee birthright citizenship because non citizens are not "subject to the jurisdiction" of the US. The lunatics which apparently include trump insist we have been interpreting the amendment incorrectly.
There is a vast array of citizenship requirements around the world. Some first world countries have simple paths. Australia for example grants citizenship at age 10 regardless of the parents' citizenship status at birth. So while not strictly birthright, they tack on a 10 year residency requirement.

What do you mean? Lots of countries offer dual citizenship to people born on their
soil of foreign parents.

My best friend from high school has dual mexican and american citizenship.


That's hardly the point, but I think you already know that fact.

Not only is it a bad idea but at very best he can achieve this through Congress not by executive order as he thinks. As per usual he doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about.

Because there is a myriad of supreme court cases set as precedent and he cannot overturn those cases. Also executive overreach has some limitations.

I’m concerned with the rhetoric. If you listen to that earlier clip and substitute jew for Muslim it does sound a lot like Hitler did when he was on his political rise. IMO

If you want to talk about that then we can talk about it, but globalist, don’t care.
